New Song

Posted in Uncategorized, music news at 12:55 pm by Deb

I actually wrote a new song today called Seeing. It’s about the aging of relationships and also how the people in a relationship see and experience things so differently. We too often get complacent and forget to work at staying close and connected. It’s easy to do that when we’re so caught up in life. I set songwriting as a goal for this weekend, knowing that I would be alone and have plenty of time and space - the two biggest necessities for songwriting. Fortunately or unfortunately, it’s another of those songs that I won’t be doing with Cavanaugh & Kavanaugh. I guess I’ll need to book some solo gigs, or have a second band to work with. I’d actually like to work with other women for a change. Maybe I’ll start looking around… Meanwhile - check out some of our upcoming gigs for lots of original songs and tunes. Our goal for this year is to finally do some recording. That and having a consistent crowd at shows are the two main ingredients for success.

April Fool’s Day

What a strange concept. I wanted to know who started this, when and why, so I looked it up. Check this out. http://wilstar.com/holidays/aprilfool.htm Like I said, what a strange concept. I always hated this day, being the gullible (or trusting, depending on how you like at it) person that I am. So far, I have survived another of these bizarre traditions unscathed.
