Music in Desperate Times

This newsletter is, unfortunately, getting out later than planned because of family illness and incredible busy-ness.  We are gearing up for a huge adventure, starting this weekend and have been immersed in preparations.  In less than three weeks, we will be leaving for Europe to work and play.

This Saturday, Deb will be performing at St. John the Divine in New York City as part of the Ars Choralis production of Music in Desperate Times concert.  There has been lots of press coverage, including this excellent article in the New York Times article with video footage including pieces of an interview with Deb.  This story has been covered all over the US and Germany.  Here is another great article from the Charlotte Observer in Charlotte, North Carolina.  If you can possibly make it to the city this weekend, it is a very moving concert.  Tickets are on sale online and at the door.

Soon after the concert, we will be leaving for Berlin, Germany while Deb performs there.  Then we’re off on our own to tour Switzerland and parts of France and Germany with a house concert in Switzerland.  Dick lived in Berlin in the mid-60s for 2 1/2 years and is looking forward to returning, now that the Berlin Wall is down, to see the many changes, hopefully for the better.
